Who Really Has the Spiritual Rights to Jerusalem?

New Jerusalem

PURPOSE

Considering the fact that we have cleared the Jews of any blame for the crucifixion of Jesus (1) —an event that can only be blamed on religious fanatics (2)— we could never be considered anti Semites. How could we be? Jesus is Our Lord, Mary is Our Heavenly Mother, Paul was the Apostle of the Gentiles, and countless others original Christians were Jews. Therefore, the purpose of this document is not to fan the flames of anti-Semitism.

The purpose of this brief document is to illustrate how politics and denial obliterate even Holy history.

BACKGROUND and INTRODUCTION

The argument about who has the Spiritual Rights to Jerusalem has been going on since the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. However, there should have never been any argument about it because the Holy Texts clearly indicate that only those who strive to live the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ have any claim to it.

Obviously, those who today claim to have a Divine Right to it, do not have it — that is, if we are going to believe the same Holy Texts they use to claim their rights.

To arbitrarily deny the Messianic Role of Jesus Christ —a role which is overwhelmingly confirmed by fulfilled prophecies (3)— simply is not a valid argument. Even the Muslim Qur’an acknowledges Jesus as having been sent by God the Father (4).

DETAILS

Let us settle once and for all who Jerusalem belong to, who should rule it and live in it.

It is amazing how simple it is to determine who are the only ones who truly have the only legitimate claim to Jerusalem. The greatness of its simplicity is only matched by the magnitude of its political incorrectness.

Without opening the floodgates of “fancy words” commonly used by “experts”, “theologians” and “religious leaders” to confuse and impress the children of God, let us start from the beginning.

Starting with Abraham [from Genesis 11 on], then on to Moses [from Exodus 3 on], moving on to David [from 2 Samuel 2 on] and right on to Solomon... specifically to the point where we read in 1 Kings 11:

29 At that time, when Jeroboam went out of Jerusalem, the prophet Ahijah the Shilonite found him on the way. Now Ahijah had clad himself with a new garment; and the two of them were alone in the field. 30 Ahijah took the new garment that was on him, and tore it in twelve pieces.

31
He said to Jeroboam, “Take ten pieces; for Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Behold, I will tear the kingdom out of the hand of Solomon and will give ten tribes to you 32 (but he shall have one tribe, for my servant David’s sake and for Jerusalem’s sake, the city which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel), ..... 35 but I will take the kingdom out of his son’s hand and will give it to you, even ten tribes.

36
I will give one tribe (Tribe of Judah) to his son, that David my servant may have a lamp always before me in Jerusalem, the city which I have chosen for myself to put my name there. 37 I will take you, and you shall reign according to all that your soul desires, and shall be king over Israel (the other eleven Tribes).

So we see that the straight lineage coming from Abraham through David hit a junction during the Kingdom of Solomon: One continuous lineage —the Tribe of Judah— was kept by the Lord for the sake of His servant David, while those who continued the other path at the junction, the Ten Tribes, were no longer part of the original lineage and eventually dissolved into the world population.

What do we see here? We see that because most had rejected the original path given by God, they lost the privileges associated with the original lineage.

Now Jesus comes into the scene. His life is such a fulfillment of the Prophecies identifying Him as the Messiah (3) that not even the most intelligent human being could have written the New Testament in a manner to better justify Jesus Messianic role.

Here we come to a second key junction: many Jews, but also —just as the Prophets announced— many people from other nations (gentiles) accept Jesus as our Messiah. At this key junction, those who accepted Jesus as the Messiah continued the lineage which, for the sake of His servant David, was kept by God. As it happened to the Ten Tribes, the Jewish Establishment of the time, which rejected the Messianic role of Jesus, had to leave Jerusalem once it was destroyed —as Jesus announced— and eventually dissolved into the world population — probably integrating into the communities descending from the Ten Tribes. Those are today’s Jews.

Therefore, it should be crystal clear to anyone who is not spiritually blind or submerged in denial, that only those Christians — who compose Jesus Family (5) — and not those who just signed up in a Christian Church for whatever reason — should be the legitimate claimants of Jerusalem.

The Jews who did not (and still do not) accept Jesus as the Messiah and were dissolved into the world population, have no more right to the Davidic lineage than Jeroboam and his subjects had.

They can claim all they want, but the overwhelming Biblical and historical facts obliterate their claims.

CONCLUSION

Of course, things will remain as they are; the non Davidic lineage will keep Jerusalem until the End of These Times. Once Jesus returns, all will be changed and what we know now as Jerusalem will be the New Jerusalem — the home of all those who strive to do the Will of His Father.

10 Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

11 I am coming quickly! Hold firmly that which you have, so that no one takes your crown. 12 He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will go out from there no more. I will write on him the name of my God and the name of the city of my God,
the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God, and my own new name.

6 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. 7 To the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: “He who is holy, he who is true, he who has the key of David, he who opens and no one can shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says these things:”
[Revelations 3]

and

1 I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth have passed away, and the sea is no more.

2 I saw the holy city,
New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband. 3 I heard a loud voice out of heaven saying, “Behold, God’s dwelling is with people; and he will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.

4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away. 5 He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”
[Revelations 21]
