From miguel de Portugal

I bid you to take the following message very seriously, since it will be very beneficial for your soul - now and after your soul crosses the veil.

The Lord has given to every man his work. It is his business to do it, and the devil's business to hinder him if he can. So sure as God has given you a work to do, satan will try to hinder you.

He may present other things more promising. He may allure you by worldly prospects, he may assault you with slander, torment you with false accusations, set you to work defending your character, employ pious persons to lie about you, editors to assail you, and excellent men to slander you.

You may have Pilate and Herod, Ananias and Caiaphas all combined against you, and Judas standing by you ready to sell you for thirty pieces of silver; and you may wonder why all those things come upon you.

Can you not see that the whole thing is brought about through the craft of the devil? To draw you off from your work and hinder your obedience to God?

Keep about your work. Do not flinch because the lion roars; do not stop to stone the devil's dogs; do not fool away your time chasing the devil's rabbits. Do your work!

Let liars lie, let sectarians quarrel, let corporations resolve, let editors publish, let the devil do his worst; but see to it that nothing hinders you from fulfilling the work God has given you.

He has not sent you to make money. He has not commanded you to get rich. He has never bidden you to defend your character. He has not set you at work to contradict falsehood which satan and his servants may start to peddle. If you do these things, you will do nothing else; you will be at work for yourself and not for the Lord.

Keep about your work. Let your aim be as steady as a star. Let the world brawl and bubble. You may be assaulted, wronged, insulted, slandered, wounded and rejected; you may be abused by foes, forsaken by friends and despised and rejected of men, but see to it, with steadfast determination, with unfaltering zeal, that you pursue the great purpose of your life and object of your being, until at last you can say: "I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do".

Should you be called to cross the veil today, are you really in a position to be able to say: "I have finished the work which Thou gavest me to do"?

Did you know that..... the Russian Orthodox Church is teaming up with the Vatican to stem the tide of secularization?

The Moscow Patriarchate urged the Catholic Church to make a strategic alliance. (1)

"Orthodox and Catholic need to take each other not as competitors but as allies in protecting rights of Christians. We have shared field of missionary work - modern Europe that has lost its religious, moral and cultural roots," head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk said speaking at the 4th International Congress in Wurzburg (Germany).

He believes that "future of Christianity in the third millennium depends" on joint efforts of Orthodox and Catholics. The Metropolitan noted that good will of the both sides helped reach "real positive results in normalization of Orthodox-Catholic relations in recent years."

"Especially significant changes in this direction have happened after election of Pope Benedict XVI of Rome in 2005 as he knows the Orthodox Church very well. Today, for example, we don't see aggressive proselyte activity of Catholics in our territory that took place in early 90s," Metropolitan Hilarion said.

"Orthodox and Catholics face the same challenges cast by modern epoch to the traditional life style. Here it's not the matter of theological issues, but present and future of human community is in question. It's the sphere where Orthodox and Catholic can cooperate without any harm to their church identity," the hierarch said. He called this form of interaction "a strategic alliance."

It includes joint efforts taken to affirm in society Christian ideas of family, marriage, bringing up children, value of human life from conception to death. Other direction of possible interaction which becomes more actual is "protection of Christians from discrimination," the hierarch said.

The M+G+R Foundation comments: The poor souls at the Moscow Patriarchate are as disoriented as the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew I (2). We know that first hand.

Have you heard that....
Rob Bell, a prominent young evangelical pastor and critic of the traditional view of hell as a place of eternal torment for billions of damned souls, has proclaimed in his new book "Love Wins" that hell is not quite that hellish after all? (1)

"I think justice comes and judgment will happen, but I don't think that means an eternity of torment," Holtz said. "But I can understand why people in my church aren't ready to leave that behind. It's something I'm still grappling with myself."

In the book, Bell criticizes the belief that a select number of Christians will spend eternity in the bliss of heaven while everyone else is tormented forever in hell.

"This is misguided and toxic and ultimately subverts the contagious spread of Jesus' message of love, peace, forgiveness and joy that our world desperately needs to hear," he writes in the book.

The M+G+R Foundation comments: The poor man is half right - love is very powerful and can win, (2) if allowed. The problem for the soul arises when it exercises its free will and rejects Jesus. In that case that soul has rejected love for an Eternity and, we ask, What is life without love? A real torment. If that is not "hell", we certainly do not know what it is!

At this point we must remind one and all that to "reject Jesus" means living a life which blatantly and consciously rejects His teachings, even if the individual cleverly tries to pass him/her self as a Christian. (3) Anyone who does not sincerely strive with his/her heart to live how Jesus taught us to live - to be part of His family [Matthew 12:50], that is - is as false a Christian as any US three-dollar bill.

In any case, Mr. Bell's misguided theology will be used to fulfill the reason for which Jesus spoke in parables:

For the heart of this people is grown gross, and with their ears they have been dull of hearing, and their eyes they have shut: lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them. [Matthew 13:15]

"Why convert?", his flock of 10,000 will say.... after all, there is no hell!

Have you realized that.... man simply has not learned a thing about his interaction with God?

Of course, we all know the story of the fall of man
, symbolically represented by Adam and Eve, as the result of the disobedience to a very simple and single "No-No" from God.

What has occupied the media in the last weeks - actually, years - is the strife between Arabs and Jews. This should have never happened either.

If Abraham had believed in what God told him and not listened to Sarah when she insisted that he force-fulfill the Divine Prophecy of a descendant by procreating with her slave, Agar, there would be no Arabs since they are the descendants of Ishmael, the offspring of Abraham and Agar. [Genesis 16]

Then we have the enslaved Israelites in Egypt. God worked awesome wonders to secure their freedom and, at the first opportunity, they made a golden calf to adore, and were in a worse spiritual state than they were when they left Egypt. ("Thank you!" Aaron for caving in to popular pressure and making idols for the pagans passing themselves as monotheists [Exodus 32: 1-9]. Sounds familiar, doesn't it?)

As we are reminded in yesterday's reading [Exodus 17:3-7], we have the same idol craving crowd murmuring "....against Moses, saying: Why didst thou make us go forth out of Egypt, to kill us and our children, and our beasts with thirst?" Never mind the awesome wonders that God had performed to free them from slavery.

And we can go on and on for millennia, so, let us fast forward to Fatima.

An awesome miracle is performed by God on October 13, 1917, accompanied by a number of lesser miracles on that day as well as on the months before. A miracle witnessed by ca. 70,000 individuals. What happens? The simple requests from Heaven were ignored and "all hell broke loose" (1) just as Mary had announced.

But wait! It gets worse. You hear the Vatican apologists claim that the Marian Apparitions at Fatima were the direct result of a plea made to Heaven by Benedict XV. You may see said plea at the Vatican site (2) which oddly shows two dates - April 27, 1915 and May 5, 1917 (3).

Were that the case, wouldn't one think that Benedict XV would make a serious effort to find out what Mary prescribed in Fatima to correct the ills of the world, and immediately obey? Actually, even if he did Heaven had not authorized Lucía to reveal the first request until the year 1925.

After all, the simple warnings by a no-body, named Jonas, to the King and people of Niniveh yielded the following results:

....the king of Niniveh; and he rose up out of his throne, and cast away his robe from him, and was clothed with sackcloth, and sat in ashes. And he caused it to be proclaimed and published in Niniveh from the mouth of the king and of his princes, saying: Let neither men nor beasts, oxen nor sheep, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water. And let men and beasts be covered with sackcloth, and cry to the Lord with all their strength, and let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the iniquity that is in their hands. [Jonas 3]

And God did relent.

But when Pius XI (Benedict XV successor) was told, did he obey? Of course not!

Remember, they really believe that they are above God, no matter what most of them have projected for public consumption.

And the rest is a bloody history, and will be a bloodier future, just because man thinks of himself above God.....

Man has not learned yet, and the final lesson will necessarily be unforgettable.

If there is a "weapon" that.... needs to be "taken out" in Libya, it is the State TV and Radio. This is very easy to do electronically, a method which will have zero human collateral damage. Yet, it has not been done. Why?

Perhaps the critics of this new military enterprise are right: The agenda may not really be to protect the civilian population. The harangues of the Libyan madman through the State TV and Radio are designed to keep the fires of war going - thus giving ample justification to escalate the intervention day after day.

Please Note: Through a number of major international media reports (Euronews (1), SkyNews (2), BBC (3), Al Jazeera (4), France24 (5), Spain's RTVE-1(6) and Portugal's SIC (7)), the strong pro-Gadafi effect that those harangues have on the rank and file Libyan population is quite obvious.

From (Mr.) GR @ US

If thoughtfully and prayerfully providing us day after day throughout the year with Divine Encouragement, along with inspired salient news commentary on "how it really is", is being "balmy", Miguel, then let us all be blessed with balminess!

I am the least able to throw stones due to my sins, and must be constantly reminded of this because I have a good 'forgetter' in my brain. Left to my selfish thoughts I can often conclude that I'm always such a wonderful person! I'm a good one for often being in denial and need the shock of reality to bring me around.

Whether we like it or not, this world is a testing ground and my fear of the pains of hell and the loss of God is too much at stake. I dread the loss of finally seeing God (and otherwise being stuck forever with the supreme torturer); and dread the loss of seeing all His New and beautiful Creation - maybe seeing again all the loving, innocent animals (even Jesus was born amongst them) and Mary and all those others with God from the Bible. As we've been told before - a prophet is often not accepted from amongst his own...

In my own local churches I've been saddened by the absence of certain services such as First Fridays and First Saturdays. One must travel very far and be open to whatever times/schedule are available. But there seems to be a plethora of other activities available such as music, bazaars, festivals, fund raisers etc.

Certainly there are some very wonderful religious who are doing the work of God; it even seems at times that they have been reading your column. What saddens me though, are the times when a priest will 'wrap it up' before the final blessing with such things as "...so don't forget to go get your hot dogs and salad before the big game this afternoon..." as if that were to be the thought people should walk away from Mass with.

I need to be reminded often " ...Thy Will be done on EARTH as it IS in Heaven" to help me learn the way.

Stay for us, m de P.

GR

A.
You kind remarks are very humbling, but rest assured that whatever we are able to accomplish is only possible by God and through the prayerful support of those who recognize that we speak the truth in the Name of God.

What you are witnessing in your local churches has become a full blown world-wide plague with very few exceptions. Indeed there are some wonderful religious, clergy and hierarchy; the problem is that they get "shelved" by those who "run the show". A dear friend of m de P, who was a Chaplain of the Sanctuary of Fatima in Portugal, was a priest in every sense of the word. No, he was not perfect; he just truly believed in God, in the very important role of Mary and in the truth of the Word of God as manifested in the Holy Scriptures.

His homilies at the Basilica in Fatima were riveting since he called an ace - "Ace" and a spade - "Spade". No whitewash in those homilies, but no fire and brimstone either. It was a matter of identifying evil and then, proclaiming the strength of Divine Mercy to help the faithful pull themselves up from the mire of sin, glorifying God at every step. He was so intent upon helping one and all - but not through compromise with the world - that one day he worked with a penitent during a Sacrament of Reconciliation session for one whole hour.... but did not give her absolution at the end because she refused to accept the fact that her blatant disregard of Divine Laws was sinful. The poor priest came out of the session in worse (physical) condition than the penitent - so much did he suffer because of her refusal.

When his (work) contract with the Sanctuary expired, he was let go. He went back to his order, which promptly shipped him to a hospital for the elderly - and he was not to leave it again. Incidentally, when m de P spent some time at his order's house in Coimbra (Portugal), Padre Antonio was the only one who wore clerical garments - the other priests dressed rather casually. When m de P was there on a day when he fasted, the fasting was not looked upon very well by the priests - other than Padre Antonio. Polite disdain describes their reaction well. [The same was experienced while visiting another religious order in the US.]

We could write an entire - and revolting - book about what "practicing the Faith" has become, but we think that the reports (1) of the two visits to Rome by m de P will tell enough!

At this point we must add: The Eastern Orthodox Catholics are rapidly following suit.

Thank you for taking the time to write and provide some encouragement from the physical world. Rest assured that it will not "go to m de P's head". He is painfully aware that the only One who would be fully qualified (2) to throw the first and last stones would our Heavenly Mother... yet She would not, even though we all really deserve to be stoned into submission.

In case that you do not know.... what "balmy" means, we looked it up for you.

According to the dictionary on line (1), the fourth definition of "balmy" is: Informal; crazy; foolish; eccentric.

The first three definitions, however, reflect exactly what we want to be for souls:

1. mild and refreshing; soft; soothing: balmy weather.
2. having the qualities of balm; aromatic; fragrant: balmy leaves.
3. producing balm: balmy plants; a balmy shrub.

Mr. GR @ US was quite right when he said: "...then let us all be blessed with balminess!" since that is precisely what God wants us to be.

As you probably have read and heard..... the US was very intent on transferring the leadership of the Libyan project to NATO. The logic was to avoid identifying the US as spearheading yet another fight in the Muslim world.

The logic - in principle - is indeed solid; however, there is one minor problem. In Europe, as well as in the Muslim world, NATO is as identified with the US as McDonald's and Burger King are.

Once again, Washington, D.C., is as out of touch with reality as Spain was when "Christianizing" the New World and the European Union is about its "union".

Lord have Mercy!

The cost of the Japanese disaster.... has been better defined. (1)

Japan's government said the cost of the earthquake and tsunami that devastated the northeast could reach $309 billion, making it the world's most expensive natural disaster on record.

The extensive damage to housing, roads, utilities and businesses across seven prefectures has resulted in direct losses of between 16 trillion yen ($198 billion) and 25 trillion yen ($309 billion), according to a Cabinet Office estimate Wednesday.

The M+G+R Foundation comments: Instead of the originally projected amount, which was only one tenth of the US Defense budget (1) for the year 2010, the cost of the reconstruction of Japan turned out to be a little over a third
of the US Defense budget instead.

In other words, for our defense, we spend three times - in one single year - the amount that it will take to rebuild the north of the 3rd-largest economy of the world.... and the US keeps losing wars around the world - big and small.

There is obviously something very wrong with this picture which, unfortunately, will not be recognized until after most of the world population has crossed the veil.

Let us continue to pray!... because there is nothing else left to do, and that is the only thing that really works.

From (Mr.) IW @ US

In our Al-Anon group there is a graphic display called the Circle of Insanity.

It goes like this... Fear begets Anxiety, which in turn begets Guilt, which begets Anger, which in turn begets Depression which begets Control which then begets Fear....

Along with the graphics there are 18 Phrases and suggestions for breaking the Circle.

Number 9 states:

"Change only happens when the pain of holding on is greater than the fear of
letting go."

If God's megaphone is His Grace turned up in magnitude, then the only thing standing in the way is the resolute stubbornness to do it "My Way".

Two other phrases are Number 3 and Number 16:

No. 3 reminds us that: "Without consequences there is no healing."

In No. 16 I have substituted "Sinner" for "Addict" and "Change" for "go to Treatment" so it would read: "The Question is not whether the "Sinner" Wants to "Change" but are they WILLING to "Change."

Another phrase that I have taken to heart recently is: "The will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you."

Maybe it's a paraphrase of Jeremiah 29:11 (New International Version, ©2011): 11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Heart of Jesus, desire of the everlasting hills, have mercy on us!

IW

A. After becoming thoroughly familiar with Al-Anon and its satellite programs (1) I concluded that such programs were God's way of making up for a great part of the failed Evangelization effort. We could not recommend the Al-Anon programs enough!

By the way, Rouco-Varela (the highest-profile Cardinal in Spain) in a letter to miguel de Portugal (2), blamed the faithful for the failed Evangelization effort.

What next? Blame an aborted baby for its abortion? or Blame the victim of a fatal medical error for having sought professional help? No, no.... better yet! Let's blame God for the crimes of humanity. After all, He created man....

If those "what next?" statements sound stupid - they "pale" when compared with the claim that the failed Evangelization effort is not the Roman Catholic Church Administration's fault.

[For the US "over 50" audience: That ridiculous claim remind us of Flip Wilson's interpretation of Geraldine who, every time that she was caught red handed, she'd say with an innocent face: "The devil made me do it!" thus clearing herself of any guilt or blame.]

Do you know how.... uninformed we are in the US? (1)

Newsweek gave 1,000 Americans the U.S. Citizenship Test-38 percent failed. The country's future is imperiled by our ignorance.

They're the sort of scores that drive high-school history teachers to drink. When Newsweek recently asked 1,000 U.S. citizens to take America's official citizenship test:

29 percent couldn't name the vice president;
73 percent couldn't correctly say why we fought the Cold War;
44 percent were unable to define the Bill of Rights; and
6 percent couldn't even circle Independence Day on a calendar.

Don't get us wrong: civic ignorance is nothing new. For as long as they've existed, Americans have been misunderstanding checks and balances and misidentifying their senators. And they've been lamenting the philistinism of their peers ever since pollsters started publishing these dispiriting surveys back in Harry Truman's day. (He was a president, by the way.)

According to a study by Michael X. Delli Carpini, dean of the Annenberg School for Communication, the yearly shifts in civic knowledge since World War II have averaged out to "slightly under 1 percent."

In March 2009, the European Journal of Communication asked citizens of Britain, Denmark, Finland, and the U.S. to answer questions on international affairs.

The Europeans clobbered us. 68 percent of Danes, 75 percent of Brits, and 76 percent of Finns could, for example, identify the Taliban, but only 58 percent of Americans managed to do the same - even though we've led the charge in Afghanistan.

The M+G+R Foundation comments:
First of all, we take exception of the term used by Newsweek in the title of the article - "Dumb". Uninformed, yes, Dumb, no!

They are the last ones who should use such term, considering that the print and visual media have the greatest impact in the level of "illumination" or "dumbness" of a nation, with Newsweek itself among the leaders of those who darken our intellect.

With that said.... Now, more than ever, that level of ignorance presents us with the greatest dangers.... just the way "they" want it.

.....cell phone use has been tied to changes in brain activity?

Researchers from the National Institutes of Health have found that less than an hour of cellphone use can speed up brain activity in the area closest to the phone antenna, raising new questions about the health effects of low levels of radiation emitted from cellphones.

The researchers, led by Dr. Nora D. Volkow, director of the National Institute on Drug Abuse, urged caution in interpreting the findings because it is not known whether the changes, which were seen in brain scans, have any meaningful effect on a person's overall health.

But the study, published Wednesday in The Journal of the American Medical Association, is among the first and largest to document that the weak radio-frequency signals from cellphones have the potential to alter brain activity.

Did you know that.... only 68% of those visiting this page (FYI%26R) visit the Divine Encouragement page?

That explains much regarding some of those who visit our pages.

From (Mr.) G Mc @ Australia

I refer to your post 18 march 2011 in which you quoted a 'spanish reporter' that 'christchurch is full of temples and without masses' and that 'in the temples all kind of activities are organised except masses'.

What does he mean by that? What do you mean by that? The fact is there are at least 61 catholic parishes - each with its church - in the catholic archdiocese of christchurch New Zealand, and getting to mass was no trouble for me when I was there.

I have never seen any temples there. What do you mean by temples anyway?

My opinion is that whoever wrote that report does not really know what he is talking about.

What does he imply by writing such rubbish and what do you imply by repeating it.

Miquel, you appear to be going balmy, the strain of it all is getting to you old chap.

The statements carry an unambiguous implication that catholics and others in christchurch are sinners, were punished in the form of earthquakes visiting their city . Is that what you and the reporter are trying to say?

Please explain. What authority did he have and did you have for the statements and the implication?

Please don't reply by saying 'you will have to ask him'.

Pray consider an apology and retraction.

G M

A. The post in question read as follows:

Did you know that... according a report by a Spanish reporter (1), the city of Christchurch (New Zealand), which was almost destroyed by an earthquake last month, is a city "full of Temples and without Masses" and a city where "in the Temples all kinds of activities are organized except Masses"?
_____________
(1) EL PAIS SEMANAL, No. 1797, March 6, 2011
(2) Extent of Earthquake

First of all: Have you read Note (a) at the head of this page? It reads:

(a) When a communication appears on this Forum, it does not automatically imply that The M+G+R Foundation agrees with all of its contents and/or conclusions. For news visitors who are not familiar with our positions we suggest a review of the three NOTES at the end of this document.

We have seen enough Churches/Temples used for anything and everything in Europe - including Flea Market activity - not to find the reporter's comments unusual. We have seen Churches closed even to the Faithful most of the week, and then opening just 15 minutes before Mass, and shutting down immediately after a sparsely attended Mass.

We have seen enough pagan-like activities by Catholics in Europe to provide a lifetime of disgust and revulsion. Therefore, we did not find the reporter's comments unusual.

Regarding your statement "The statements carry an unambiguous implication that catholics and others in christchurch are sinners, were punished in the form of earthquakes visiting their city . Is that what you and the reporter are trying to say?"

We have no way of knowing what the reporter is trying to say but we will spell out for you and all what we are saying - which is repeating what we have said in the past many times in various forms.

Starting from: But he that knew not, and did things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. And unto whomsoever much is given, of him much shall be required: and to whom they have committed much, of him they will demand the more. [Luke 12:48]

And the fact that we unambiguously state: The Catholic Faith is the one Faith which has the greatest concentration of Divinely Revealed Truths. By no means it has them all since God is the only Plenitude of Truth, but no other Faith has as many Truths in its Spiritual Treasury as the Catholic Faith. Be it the reality of the Seven Sacraments; be it the practice of Indulgences; be it the reality of Purgatory; be it the truth about the Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Mary, the Mother of Jesus Christ, True God and True Man; etc.

It follows that: Of any group in the planet, the one which will have more suffering to endure, and more members Eternally lost, will be the Christians, with the Catholics leading the list.

The earthquake in New Zealand was both a consequence of a lifestyle not in harmony with Divine Law and a warning - in particular, to Christians there who may actually believe and act as pagans. However, their deviation from the right path is not necessarily worse than it is seen elsewhere - including in Europe, the heart of "Christendom." So the message is for the whole world, and warns of a global disaster to come.

This is a good time to remember what Jesus said: Or those eighteen upon whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse offenders than all the others who dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, No; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. [Luke 13:4-5]

Regarding your statement: "Miquel, you appear to be going balmy, the strain of it all is getting to you old chap."

Were there any strain, it would because there are too many people - thousands upon thousands - like you, who have visited our pages for years and have not lifted a finger to give us a hand in any form or fashion.

Regarding your question: "What authority... did you have for the statements and the implication."

The answer is simple: The authority given to miguel de Portugal by God.

If your letter had been written in a different manner, it would have been received with great joy since it gave us an opportunity to clarify a number of issues as we have done above. Unfortunately the tone that you used is unacceptable and we request that you do not visit our pages any more and certainly do not correspond with us again.

Did you know that.... all of those allegations of "Conspiracy Theory" regarding the HAARP project, like most of those disinformation campaigns, are being proven wrong right now?

The official line, as published in Wikipedia (1) reads:

The High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) is an ionospheric research program jointly funded by the US Air Force, the US Navy, the University of Alaska and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). Its purpose is to analyze the ionosphere and investigate the potential for developing ionospheric enhancement technology for radio communications and surveillance purposes. The HAARP program operates a major Arctic facility, known as the HAARP Research Station, on an Air Force owned site near Gakona, Alaska.

Now, if we go to Chapter 4 of a certain document we read:

"The desirability to modify storms to support military objectives is the most aggressive and controversial type of weather-modification..."

"Weather-modification technologies might involve techniques that would increase latent heat release in the atmosphere, provide additional water vapor for cloud cell development, and provide additional surface and lower atmospheric heating to increase atmospheric instability."

"The focus of the weather-modification effort would be to provide additional "conditions" that would make the atmosphere unstable enough to generate cloud and eventually storm cell development. The path of storm cells once developed or enhanced is dependent not only on the mesoscale dynamics of the storm but the regional and synoptic (global) scale atmospheric wind flow patterns in the area which are currently not subject to human control."

"According to Lewis M. Duncan, and Robert L. Showen, the Former Soviet Union (FSU) conducted theoretical and experimental research in this area at a level considerably greater than comparable programs in the West."

"A number of methods have been explored or proposed to modify the ionosphere, including injection of chemical vapors and heating or charging via electromagnetic radiation or particle beams (such as ions, neutral particles, x-rays, MeV particles, and energetic electrons). It is important to note that many techniques to modify the upper atmosphere have been successfully demonstrated experimentally. Ground-based modification techniques employed by the FSU include vertical HF heating, oblique HF heating, microwave heating, and magnetospheric modification. Significant military applications of such operations include low frequency (LF) communication production, HF ducted communications, and creation of an artificial ionosphere. "

But why take our word for it.... if your nervous system can handle it, review the original Road Map to Weather Modification for Military Purposes. (2)

Did you know that.... an article in the Huffington Post ponders why Evangelicals hate Jesus? According to the article (1):

The results from a recent poll published by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life reveal what social scientists have known for a long time: White Evangelical Christians are the group least likely to support politicians or policies that reflect the actual teachings of Jesus.

It is perhaps one of the strangest, most dumbfounding ironies in contemporary American culture.

Evangelical Christians, who most fiercely proclaim to have a personal relationship with Christ, who most confidently declare their belief that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, who go to church on a regular basis, pray daily, listen to Christian music, and place God and His Only Begotten Son at the center of their lives, are simultaneously the very people most likely to reject his teachings and despise his radical message.

Before attempting an answer, allow a quick clarification.

Evangelicals don't exactly hate Jesus -- as we've provocatively asserted in the title of this piece. They do love him dearly. But not because of what he tried to teach humanity. Rather, Evangelicals love Jesus for what he does for them.

Through his magical grace, and by shedding his precious blood, Jesus saves Evangelicals from everlasting torture in hell, and guarantees them a premium, luxury villa in heaven. For this, and this only, they love him. They can't stop thanking him.

And yet, as for Jesus himself -- his core values of peace, his core teachings of social justice, his core commandments of goodwill -- most Evangelicals seem to have nothing but disdain.

The M+G+R Foundation comments: First of all, let us not forget that generalizations do not mean 100 percent participation; generalizations do, however, indicate that a great majority fits the stereotype. This translates to: There are some very fine Evangelicals who "toe Jesus' line" on his core values of peace, his core teachings of social justice and his core commandments of goodwill.

"Some" means a minority, while the majority has a scandalous disdain for Jesus' core values.... and that is "a book we can write". However, the Evangelicals did not invent this deviation; they learned it from the Catholic Church Administration which has had 1,600 years of experience in using the Holy Name of Jesus to pillage and plunder the world under the threat of excommunication.

As those who claimed to be Christians have marched through the veil which separates physical life and death, they have quickly learned the meaning of:

For whosoever shall do the will of my Father, that is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother. [Matthew 12:50]
(The Will of His Father is precisely reflected in Jesus' core values.)
and
For many are called, but few are chosen. [Matthew 22:14]

and the horrific realization of the full meaning of this conversation

We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. And he shall say to you: I know you not, whence you are: depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you shall see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. [Luke 13:26-28]

But since they live in denial, even as the above is read, the ones to whom it is most applicable will be convinced that it only applies to his/her neighbor.

In reality, the only thing that the users of the Holy Name of Jesus "will have going for them" is that they will have the proverbial eight lane highway available for their own use, since...

.....for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat. [Matthew 7:13]

The logs of our Domains "tell many tales" about those who think that they are Jesus' "brother, and sister, and mother" [Matthew 12:50] but are not.

For example - Our Divine Encouragement page, where not only Jesus' core values are expounded, but also where Spiritual Direction is also given to assist the willing souls to be able to live these values, accounts for only 4.53 % of the pages visited - no matter how we promote it or how visible and available the link to that page is.

Our consolation is that as long as we fulfill the Will of God in making all the information available to the whole world, none of the suffering or the loss of souls will be "charged to our account" in Heaven; conversely, even if one is set on the right path, we will be able to be part of the Heavenly rejoicing for such accomplishment.

Rejoice with me, because I have found my sheep that was lost. I say to you, that even so there shall be joy in heaven upon one sinner that doth penance, more than upon ninety-nine just who need not penance. [Luke 15: 7]

It is a tragedy to see the loss but, Blessedly, such sorrow is offset by the indescribable Joy to be at the service of God.

From (Mr.) WS @ US

James Davison Hunter in his book "Culture Wars; The Struggle to Define America", is concerned about the lack of consensus in America of what is good and
right. He claims that this is what the Culture War between the Conservative (Orthodox) forces and the Progressive (Liberal) forces is all about.

Each side believes that its beliefs are "sacred" and that no compromise can be reached. Mr. Hunter sees this as a shift from religious wars from the past in which whole denominations such as Catholics and Jews might be discriminated against to the point that Conservative Catholics, Fundamentalist Christians and Orthodox Jews are on one side while Liberal Catholics, Mainline Protestants and Cultural Jews are on the other.

In effect Private beliefs have invaded Public Culture to the extent that there is no room for a Center of Moderation. Mr. Hunter explores areas of life such as the Family, Education, Media and Arts, Law and Electoral Politics. Though he tries to be hopeful for a solution such as having a Public Discourse, he cannot provide a positive example of how today's venomous rhetoric can be tamed. He leans toward the Conservative forces as slightly stronger and possibly eventual winners.

I should note here that this book was written in 1991!

On on page 313, Mr. Hunter quotes an excerpt from the Marquis de Sade's novel "Juliet" :

Minski responding to accusations that he has committed various heinous crimes, says "similar to the concepts of virtue and vice (the concepts of justice and injustice) are purely local and geographical; that which is vicious in Paris turns up as virtue in Peking, and it is quite the same thing here: that which is unjust in Ishfahan they call unjust in Copenhagen. Amidst these manifold variations do we discover anything constant? Only this ...self interest... is the single rule for defining what is just and unjust. (1)

When self interest and passion combine then we are in for a lot of pain and suffering. When our business ethic, our sense of right and wrong, and good and evil are derived from self interest then we will accept anyone who will come along to deliver us from (perceived) evil.

Jesus said: "I have come into the world to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice." Pilate said to him, "What is
truth?"

Pilate was speaking from self interest. Even though he found Jesus not guilty of any crime, he handed Jesus over to be crucified in order to solve his own problem: quell the mob.

Thomas Hobbes was right; Hell is truth seen too late!

WS

A. For those who rejoice in seeing the Hand of Providence.... We had not seen Mr. WS's letter even though it reached us in early March. It got buried under 170 + letters in our always overflowing In Box. The post which appears above (Why Evangelicals hate Jesus) was meant to be the only post for March 21st and it was sent to be proofread as such. The next time we opened our main computer's mail program, Mr. WS's letter was highlighted in the In Box and the text occupied the screen. This was the first time we ever saw the letter.

Mr. WS's letter could not be more appropriate to the original post for the 21st. Coincidence? Yes, but only if one does not truly believe in God.

From miguel de Portugal

Twenty six years ago today God, in an instant, changed my awareness and the direction of my journey forever. It did not take three days and a visit from an Ananias figure for it to happen. In an instant, miguel became aware of Who God was, and that miguel's only function was to serve Him. The term "Who God was" may be confusing and possibly misleading since it is impossible to describe in human words the possession of the reality that: God is the Supreme and Indisputable Creator; He is the manifestation of Unfathomable Love and Mercy; and He is totally irresistible once He has manifested Himself to a human.

What we read in Exodus 33:20 - "...for no one may see Me and live." - could not be more true. Once one "sees" Him, the old self simply dies, it ceases to exist.

Although I was born into a Catholic family - a Faith that was practiced by most members "cafeteria style" - I started a search, but not for God since I had already come face-to-Face with Him. The search was for a system, a methodology, by which I could strengthen my relationship with God and, above all, serve Him the very best I could.

After studying most major faiths which are practiced by large segments of the world population - as well as some less conventional ones (a study which lasted months and which was drenched with very basic prayers seeking that goal) - the conclusion was the overwhelming reality that:

The Catholic Faith is the one Faith which has the greatest concentration of Divinely Revealed Truths. It became obvious that the Catholic Faith was the system and methodology by which I could best strengthen my relationship with God and, above all, serve Him the very best I could.

Twenty six years of very rich spiritual and supernatural experiences have confirmed, over and over again, that initial conclusion.

This is why we insist that we must not confuse the Catholic Faith with the Administration (1) of the Catholic Church. Regardless of what the Administrators have done in the past and/or their obvious lack of faith in God, living the basic tenets of the Catholic Faith
(2) ensures the most secure and fulfilling passage through Time.

Nonetheless, let us keep in mind that just as The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath [Mark 2:27] Institutionalized religion (in this case "the Church") was made for man, and not man for the Church; man was made for God, and only God.

Do you know the.... words of (the translation) of the oath of fidelity and obedience to the Pope and his Successors, pronounced by the Cardinals at the time they receive the biretta, or cardinal's hat?

According to the Catholic Almanac [translation by Zenit] (1) it reads thus:
[our highlights]

I [name and surname], Cardinal of the Holy Roman Church, promise and swear to be faithful henceforth and forever, while I live, to Christ and his Gospel, being constantly obedient to the Holy Roman Apostolic Church, to Blessed Peter in the person of the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI, and of his canonically elected Successors; to maintain communion with the Catholic Church always, in word and deed; not to reveal to any one what is confided to me in secret, nor to divulge what may bring harm or dishonor to Holy Church; to carry out with great diligence and faithfulness those tasks to which I am called by my service to the Church, in accord with the norms of the law.

So help me Almighty God.

The M+G+R Foundation comments:
Such oath cannot be ever lived up to. No one can "promise and swear to be faithful henceforth and forever,... to Christ and his Gospel" and at the same time being "constantly obedient to the Holy Roman Apostolic Church, to.... the Supreme Pontiff".

As Jesus Christ clearly stated:

No man can serve two masters. For either he will hate the one, and love the other: or he will sustain the one, and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon. [Matthew 6:24]

When one then reads the next clause of the oath "... nor to divulge what may bring harm or dishonor to Holy Church;" it becomes painfully clear what is the "theology" behind the cover up of past, present and future sexual (and many other) abuses by the church religious, clergy and hierarchy.

This is what can be called: Institutionalized denial.

From (Mr.) IW @ US

It appears that American big money - oil and real estate - was essential in (a) launching Protestant Fundamentalism in the early 1900s in the US, and (b) in providing early support for a Jewish return to Palestine.

In
The Continuum History of Apocalypticism, Bernard J. McGinn, John J. Collins, and Stephen J. Stein, eds., Continuum, 2003, I read:
[my highlights]

"A major boost to the cause came in 1910, when the brothers Lyman and Milton Stewart, the millionaire owners of California's Union Oil Company, financed the publication and distribution of The Fundamentals, a series of essays by leading conservative theologians and churchmen setting forth the key doctrines that Fundamentalists (as they were beginning to be called) considered vital to true Christianity. Published in eleven volumes between 1910 and 1915 under the general editorship of the Rev. Amzi C. Dixon (1854-1925), pastor of Chicago's Moody Memorial Church, The Fundamentals was distributed free to hundreds of thousands of US Protestant ministers. One of the 'fundamentals,' and the subject of two essays in the series, was Christ's premillennial return. The Stewart brothers also financed in 1908 the reissue of Jesus Is Coming, a premillennialist treatise of the 1880s by the Chicago real-estate developer and prophecy writer William E. Blackstone (1841-1935). Thanks to the Stewarts' largesse, nearly seven hundred thousand copies of this work were sent to ministers across America." (p. 527)
and

"As early as 1891, several years before Theodore Herzl formally launched the Zionist movement, William E. Blackstone had presented to President Benjamin Harrison a petition urging US support for a Jewish return to the promised land." (p. 528)

Did you know that... the Shinmoedake cone on the Kirishima mountain range (Japan) erupted last Sunday, the largest blast from the volcano in 52 years? (1) [our highlights]

About 1,500 earthquakes strike the island nation every year. Minor tremors occur on a nearly daily basis. Deadly quakes are a tragic part of the nation's past.

The anniversary of the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, for example, which killed more than 100,000 people around Tokyo, is now national Disaster Prevention Day. More recently, a 6.8 magnitude earthquake struck the city of Kobe in 1995, killing more than 6,000 people.

Japan has such a large potential for earthquakes - and disaster - because the nation sits atop four huge slabs of the Earth's crust, called tectonic plates. These plates mash and grind together and trigger deadly earthquakes, like the 8.9-magnitude quake that struck last Friday

The rupture during Friday's quake was almost 200 miles (322 km) long, ...., said Tom Broker, of the USGS. Earthquakes along that fault can affect the rest of the world - literally.

For one, the intense temblor accelerated Earth's spin, shortening the length of the 24-hour day by 1.8 microseconds, according to geophysicist Richard Gross at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

Japan's Earthquake Research Committee said the earthquake forced the North American plate eastward by about 66 feet (20 meters), reported Japan's national broadcast agency, NHK. The entire island of Honshu was moved about 8 feet (2.4 m) east, according to USGS scientists. Geologists in St. Louis reported that their city moved up and down a fraction of an inch during the quake, but too slowly for anyone to notice, reported the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

The M+G+R Foundation comments: What the news media has not mentioned yet is that the March 15th (intensity of 6.2) earthquake, which occurred at 13:31:46 UTC, took place practically under Mt. Fuji. Besides being the favorite post card image for tourists visiting Japan, Mt. Fuji is a dormant volcano. Its last eruption began in November 1707 and it has been dormant since February 1708.

In other words, Mt. Fuji may also blow its top, as Shinmoedake just did - and just as Mt. St. Helen and Mt. Pinatubo have done in the past - with devastating results.

In conclusion: Let us continue to pray.

and that....

....the insured earthquake and tsunami damage is estimated at 25 billion USD? (1)

If we, arbitrarily, multiplied that number by four and called the total cost for the earthquake and tsunami damage to be 100 billion USD, what would that really mean?

To put this staggering number in perspective, let us compare it with the US Department of Defense budget for 2010.

For the 2010 fiscal year, the president's base budget of the Department of Defense rose to $533.8 billion. Adding spending on "overseas contingency operations" brings the sum to $663.8 billion.

Defense related expenditures outside of the Department of Defense constitute between $319 billion and $654 billion in additional spending, bringing the total for defense spending to between $1.01 and $1.35 trillion in fiscal year 2010. (2)

That is, even inflating the damage caused to Japan by the earthquakes and tsunamis to the staggering amount of 100 billion USD, it is only one tenth of the declared budget of the US Department of Defense for one year.

Is it now clearer to you why it is in the best interest of the industries which financially benefit from DOD contracts that wars continue forever and ever?

Whoever is banking on any kind of peace without a Divine Intervention that will reduce to world to rubble, should seriously consider these hard and very cold facts.
_______________
(1) News Report
(2) US (published) Defense Budget

But not to worry.... according to the alleged scientists, when the seismic "big one" hits California, it is doubtful that it will be as powerful as the earthquake that struck Japan last week. (1)
[our highlights]

The colossal California quake considered inevitable and long overdue is most likely to strike along the southern end of the famed San Andreas Fault and register a magnitude of 7.5 or greater, many times less powerful than the 9.0 temblor that rocked Japan on Friday, geologists say.

That scenario is based on the premise of a magnitude 7.8 quake rupturing the San Andreas in the desert east of Los Angeles and radiating with catastrophic fury into the nation's second-largest metropolitan area.

Never mind that....
in 1906 a terrifying rumble of an earthquake shattered the early morning San Francisco silence of April 18 at 5:15 AM. (2)

The quake lasted only a minute but caused the worst natural disaster in the nation's history. Modern analysis estimates it registered 8.25 on the Richter scale.

The greatest destruction came from the fires the quake ignited. These ravaged the city for three days before burning themselves out. The maelstrom destroyed 490 city blocks, a total of 25,000 buildings, made over 250,000 homeless and killed between 450 and 700. Damage estimates topped $350,000,000.

and that....

....there has never been an earthquake as powerful as 9.0 in Japan in recorded history until just a few days ago.

Should someone inform those alleged scientists that there is always a First Time and that Monday Morning Quarterbacking never resurrected a dead individual nor magically restored "the always unexpected" damages?

Personally, we will continue to pray.... while the alleged scientists continue to pander their "snake oil" (3) remedies. Prayer works; "snake oil" remedies never have.

From (Mrs.) RM @ Puerto Rico

When I began to read your document about the journey between Time and Eternity (1), the first shock I had was the concept of destiny/fate.

Every time I heard about "fate" I believed that it implied that all decisions we take were previously written (programmed); i.e. every step of our journey through Time was predetermined. Of course, that concept was opposed to what I knew regarding free will, therefore, I rejected the existence of a destiny - "fate". Through your pages, I had to reprogram my "chip," tying together some loose ends which I did not previously know how to tie correctly.
I believe your document (1) posted on March 14, 2011 tied some of them as follows:
1. It appears that the correct definition for destiny/fate is the final goal: heaven/hell.
2. The walk on earth to get that final goal (heaven/hell), in other words, our destiny, is not pre written. Then, each step we take is not pre established.
3. Each step of our life would lead us to select one of two choices: a) to act in agreement with the God's will or b) to act in disagreement with the God's will. Then here is our free will. Any one of our "free will" decisions will lead us to a particular set of consequences.
4. Every time we made the wrong choice (with its painful set of consequences) all that God asks from us is a contrite heart sufficiently humble to ask for His compassionate help/intervention in order that we could correct the way. What that implies is that God has unlimited power to arrange the circumstances in order that his remorseful son/daughter could select again the steps that agree with His will.

5. The redirected steps will contain the necessary tests to prove to God our sincere desire for a genuine conversion.
6. All the while, the angels work to make our way more or less painful. God's angels work for the less painful walk and fallen angels work for a more painful walk, but our destiny (heaven/hell goal) is not changed, in accordance with the Book of Life.
Are the loose ends correctly tied now?
Blessings for you and yours!

RM

Do you wonder...
what the difference is between the ecumenical movement and the interfaith movement?

In the introduction to his book False Dawn,[1] Lee Penn explains why faithful Christians should distinguish carefully between these two movements for religious unity:

The movement for unity among Christians is the ecumenical movement. I believe that Christ wills that Christians should be united. At the Last Supper, He prayed for unity among the Apostles, and for unity among those who would follow them, through the centuries: "I do not pray for these only, but also for those who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that thou hast sent me." (John 17:20-21) Division among Christians is a scandal: a stumbling-block for those who seek truth, and a witness against the Gospel.

The interfaith movement, the quest for unity among all religions and spiritual expressions, is a different matter altogether. As the movement has taken shape since 1893, it is inextricably tied to the quest for a New Spirituality that would unify the planet in a New World Order. The URI is the fullest expression of this movement now. This movement is a foe of traditional Christianity; it seeks to domesticate the other ancient religions, as well, subordinating all faiths to seek a "Kingdom" of this world. Followers of traditional religions who embrace the present-day interfaith movement will find themselves in the position of sheep who negotiate with wolves about the dinner menu.

That said, there are some forms of interfaith cooperation that would be desirable:

- Collaboration on corporal works of mercy: negotiating an end to wars, feeding the hungry, care for the sick, housing the homeless, and the like.

- Collaboration on behalf of human rights and justice, building on the Natural Law, the morality that is built into the conscience of all men.

- Education is beneficial - not in order to "prove" that all religions really are the same, but to dispel false or inadequate information that people may have about other faiths and their adherents.

None of these activities require or promote the utopian, syncretic beliefs that are integral to the URI and other present-day interfaith organizations.

In any case, no interfaith umbrella group is needed for religious leaders and teachers to tell their own followers to be peaceful and charitable toward members of other faiths.

Did you know that... only one in three of the visitors to this page visit a far more important page - the Divine Encouragement page?

Well, the truth is that we did not know either until today and it is probably our fault for not highlighting it properly.

Do you wonder what.... Engineering schools are teaching its students? So do we!

Let's see.... The structures of the Japanese nuclear reactors can withstand the direct hit of an airplane but they did not have a Plan "B", "C", "D" and "E" to make sure that they would not lose the ability to cool their core and avoid a meltdown. Brilliant!! The only eventuality a nuclear facility should not be ready to face is a direct hit by 200 meter in diameter meteorite. All other eventualities should have been thought off and provided for.

No, no.... this is not Monday Morning quarterbacking for miguel. He lived through many a Potential Problem Analysis "conclave" so that we could develop Plan "B", "C", "D" and "E" for any lethal project (most of them were) that we tackled.

Back then, little did the neighbors of our facilities know that we had above ground storage tanks containing tens of thousands of pounds of liquid hydrogen cyanide. For those who do not know, hydrogen cyanide was the favorite tool in the Nazi extermination camps, and it takes a minute amount to kill "on the spot". Did miguel worry because he spent at least eight hours a day within 0 to 200 meters from these storage tanks and the next 16 hours barely one kilometer away?

No, he did not worry at all. We had so many Plans "B", "C", "D", "E", etc., in place that hell would have frozen over (or the Vatican Administration would have become believers in God) first before we had a deadly massive cyanide spill.... which, by the way, would had exterminated most life in the town in question.

How about the failure of the largest liquid ammonia tank in the world, which we also had? It almost looked like the Astrodome. Did we worry? No!.... for the same reasons listed above. If you think a salt water tsunami is bad, think of a tidal wave of boiling liquid ammonia flowing towards your neighborhood.

We could go on for pages!

What is really scary is that the world leaders are even more intellectually challenged than today's brilliant "scientists". Lord have Mercy!

Have you heard that.... scientists working for the United Nations have revealed that the mysterious collapse of honey-bee colonies is becoming a global phenomenon? (1)

Declines in managed bee colonies, seen increasingly in Europe and the US in the past decade, are also now being observed in China and Japan and there are the first signs of African collapses from Egypt, according to the report from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

The authors, who include some of the world's leading honey-bee experts, issue a stark warning about the disappearance of bees, which are increasingly important as crop pollinators around the globe. Without profound changes to the way human beings manage the planet, they say, declines in pollinators needed to feed a growing global population are likely to continue. The scientists warn that a number of factors may now be coming together to hit bee colonies around the world, ranging from declines in flowering plants and the use of damaging insecticides, to the worldwide spread of pests and air pollution.

The M+G+R Foundation comments: Gee, and we thought that this "scare" had been written off as some sort of Conspiracy Theory or that someone had miscounted the bees.... But wait! Maybe the answer lies in the recent news report that: "An estimated one million fish turned up dead Tuesday in a Southern California marina,...." (2)

Let's see how long it takes a "scientist" to announce that the bees disappeared because the sardines ate them which in turn killed the sardines because the bees stung their stomachs....

Of course we are being sarcastic but it is hard not to be with the tsunami of stupidity that swirls around the world 24/7!

May this be another reminder that it is in God where we must place all of our trust. Man, without God, has proven to be a failure.

We strongly suggest that you first review our positions regarding the Pristine Catholic Faith (we said "Faith" and not "Church Administration), RC Church Administration, Only Possible Changes Within the RCC Allowed by God and Our Function.

(2) If you prefer to evaluate positions using the "liberal", "moderate" and "conservative" labels, we would fall in the "practicing conservative" group, without the fanaticism which most "talking conservatives" exhibit. The difference between "practicing conservative" and "talking conservative" is that the first strives to live what Jesus Christ taught, while the second one, the "talking conservative", just talks about the faith and practices just enough for others to see.
